Tuscany Underground & Above: Sheep Farm Tour and Stalagmite Cave Experience

This activity will take place in English.

Step into a world where ancient traditions still thrive!

Activity offered in collaboration with il centro Il Colibrì di Pisa

Join us for a very special day at a traditional Tuscan farm that still practices transhumance—the age-old seasonal movement of livestock between mountain and lowland pastures. This centuries-old method supports biodiversity, sustainability, and the production of some of Tuscany’s most unique foods.

What’s in store:

  • Meet the sheep—specifically the Massese breed, a rare and local variety—and the young farmerwho keeps this tradition alive
  • Discover how the farm’s cheese and other products are made
  • Hear stories of ancient methods, local ingredients, and the deep connection between land and food

Enjoy a farm-fresh lunch made entirely with products from the farm and nearby producers:

  • Handmade pasta with freshly made ricotta (straight from the sheep!)
  • Tender lamb with seasonal vegetables (vegetarian option available)
  • A guided cheese tasting
  • A delicious homemade dessert

But the day doesn’t end there!
After lunch, explore one of the most spectacular stalagmite caves in Tuscany—a natural wonder shaped by rain, limestone, and time. You’ll take a guided tour through this mysterious underground world.

Pricing:

  • €45per person (farm visit + full lunch)
  • €18for the cave visit (includes entry and guided tour)

An unforgettable day of local culture, flavors, and natural beauty. Places are limited—book your spot today!
